"S-EXPRESS"

As far as the dancefloor is concerned, '88 will be remembered for two reasons - Acid House & the DJ record. Both revolutioned club culture & spawned a host of British dance acts that dominated the charts, the most successful of which was Mark Moore's S-Express. Technicolour trips & 70's blaxploitation vibe, Euro House & Disco fun, that's all S-Express is about.

"THE EVIL ACID BARON SHOW"

1988 Polygram Music Video

in 1986, the young Chicago House Music scene invaded the world with the jack virus.  Acid House, a psychedelic subgenre of House appeared at the same time. Less than a year later it became the new phenomenun that reached the point of non return in the dance music movement.

By 1988, while everybody was "trance dancing" in the first UK acid house clubs, "Orbital Visuals / STAKKER" organisation announced the "Eurotechno - Vision World Tour" project in I-D Magazine. Creating new computer generated visuals with the most exciting & innovative dance music around was the concept.

"The Evil Acid Baron Show" video is the final shoot of this project. It's a 30' psychedelic trip into the acid house storm. The visuals are unique & absolutely fabulous. But the soundtrack also offers some of the best tunes of its time : Pierre's Pfantasy Girl - Dream Girl, Tyree - Acid Over, Adonis - The Poke, Cool House - Rock This Party Right, S-Express - Superfly Guy Acid Remix or Baby Ford - Oochy Koochy & more...

For those who missed this exciting era or where too young to know what Acid House means, this video is the best way to discover the roots of the movement.
